A Guide on finding the Best Huanchaco Hotel
Huanchaco Peru is famous for being a beach and surf town near Trujillo, Peru and as it is busy with tourists you can find many Huanchaco Hotels.
Located 10 hours by bus or an hour by plane from Lima, it is very popular with both Peruvians and foreign tourists to visit for a weekend or longer.
Not only it is known for its surf breaks and beaches. You can also ride the famous “Caballitos de Totora” and relax after eating ceviche and having a beer in one of the many restaurants around the town.
Since the first time I visited Huanchaco a lot of new hotels have opened up, lots with swimming pools, which is great in summer time when it can be very hot and humid, though the town did suffer a lot during the period 2020 to 2022 as Peru was closed for a long time to visitors.

Hotel Riviera Muchik
The hotel is located in the centre of Huanchaco. A 1 minute walk from the pier and opposite the beach.
Hotel Muchik Trujillo offers guests single, double and family rooms with continental breakfast included. All rooms have air conditioning and some rooms have a balcony and sea view.
The hotel is new having only opened in October 2018.

Hotel Caballito de Totora Huanchaco Trujillo is located on the main street coming into Huanchaco Trujillo, opposite the la playa de huanchaco trujillo and a 5 minute walk into the centre.
The hotel offers guests single, double, triple and family suites. Breakfast is included in this hotel and some rooms have air conditioning and sea views.
The hotel peru trujillo also has a swimming pool and hot tub for guests use and a restaurant serving lunch and dinner.

Hotel Las Palmeras de Huanchaco
Hotel Las Palmeras Huanchaco Trujillo Peru is located towards the end of Huanchaco about a 10 minute walk to the centre, opposite Huanchaco beach Peru in a quiet area.
Las Palmeras Huanchaco Hotel offers guests double/twin rooms with American Breakfast included. Each room has a flat screen tv and some rooms have sea views.
The hotel also has an outdoor pool and a restaurant for lunch and dinner.

Hotel Sol de Huanchaco
Located just a few blocks from the beach, it is a popular location for surfers as it is close to the main surf break.
It is a basic hotel but is clean and simple and offers, single, double, twin and family rooms.
Breakfast is available at the Sol de Huanchaco but it is not included in the price of the room.
The rooms are quite large and some of the rooms have a balcony overlooking the street, there is also free wifi available at the hotel.

Paradise Hotel
Paradise Hotel is located on the main street of Huanchaco, close to the main bars and restaurants and now has a new bar and restaurant located on the rooftop.
The hotel has a small pool where you can cool down on a hot summers day and breakfast is included in your stay. Some of the rooms have balconies with sea views and kitchens.
The hotel has free wifi for guests and a tv with cable channels.
If you are looking for somewhere quiet to stay then you would be better staying somewhere else during the weekend. It is a nice, clean hotel but on a weekend it will be quite loud.

Montemar Apart Hotel
The Montemar Hotel is located just a block from the beach in Huanchaco and close to many restaurants.
The hotel has a pool surrounded by a garden and is a nice place to relax if you don’t want to do a day trip or go down to the beach. There are options of double rooms and triple rooms with access to a shared kitchen or even full apartments.
There is free wifi for all guests and every room has a tv. If you are looking for somewhere quiet to relax, with a pool then this is a great choice.
