Finding the best hostel or hotel for your budget can be so time consuming before or during your trip.
Therefore I have created guides here for you, from budget to cheap hotels and some places if you want to splash out a little. That way you don’t need to look through the hundreds of options and can pick from the best.
What accommodation best suits you?
If you are on a budget then hostels in Peru are very cheap. Here you can either pick a bed in a shared dorm room or a private room.
Generally if you are travelling solo then this is the cheapest option, but if you are travelling with a friend or partner then you can normally get a private room for around the same price or slightly more expensive.
Hostels
Hostels are a great way to stick to a budget if you are travelling alone. Many of them now cater for backpackers and have great common areas to meet other travellers Some hostels can be great for chilling and others for parties, so I will point out these facts in the description.
Pro’s: A great way to meet other people and staff to help you navigate your stay in the area.
Con’s: You can be sharing a room and bathroom with a lot of other people, you might get a disturbed night’s sleep.
Hotels
Hotels in Peru can be quite cheap, they range from budget to luxury. If you are a solo traveller though it can be quite hard to meet other people as they don’t have the common area’s to meet other people and I generally find people who stay in hotels aren’t interested in mixing with other people.
Pro’s: A room to yourself and staff on call if any problems.
Con’s: It’s hard to meet other people if you are travelling alone.
Airbnb
This is now becoming quite popular in Peru and is a great option if you are travelling in a group, or couple or are planning on staying somewhere for a longer period of time.
Pro’s: Accommodation can be cheaper and more personal that hotels.
Con’s: Host’s can cancel last minute and it may not be as described on the site.
